To owners, operators, responsible parties, and occupants of real property in the City of Clayton, Ohio, Chapter 1313.05 of the Clayton Codified Ordinances requires owners, operators, responsible parties, and occupants of every property in the City to cut, remove or destroy by lawful means any grass, weeds or rank vegetation in excess of eight (8) inches. Noxious weeds are prohibited. Notice will be issued providing five (5) days to cut and remove grass, weeds, or vegetation in excess of eight (8) inches. After the City has issued two (2) notices to the property, that property will be placed on a Grass Watch List and the City will cut and re move grass, weeds or vegetation in excess of eight (8) inches for the duration of the season when needed and the owner(s) of the property will be responsible for all costs and penalties. The cost of cutting and removal by the City is $200.00 per acre or part thereof plus 10% administration fee. In addition to the cost of cutting and removal, a penalty may be imposed of $100.00 for each of the first four violations and $200.00 for each violation after the fourth.
