Clayton Police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from within. Recently, residents have reported multiple vehicles being ransacked with cash, wallets , credit cards and other valuables stolen. The thefts have occurred in the areas of Sunnyhills, Glenhills, Cresent Ridge and along Old Salem Road. All of the vehicles reported were unlocked.
Last night, while on patrol Clayton Officers stopped a vehicle within that area, an arrest was made for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, however, one suspect ran from the vehicle. The suspects are from the City of Riverside and are considered suspects in the thefts from vehicles.
